As usual the prestigious NAGA association celebrated their Saturday competition last week.
NAGA is an independent golf society that was founded almost 30 years ago by a group of friends with the intention of playing a weekly competition on Saturdays at Los Naranjos Golf Club. The aim of the society is to, through the game of golf to bring together men of different nationalities and professions and therefor nourish common interest, social contact and comradeship.
The Individual Stableford competition is open for NAGA members and their guests. Last Saturday the first tee off took place at 9:57 with 19 players participating, more than 80% being members at Los Naranjos. The favourite for the victory was Sebastian Lindström, with handicap 1.2.
After 9 holes, Shikharev Sergey took the lead over Sebastian by 2 shots, but Sebastian was not willing to give up his advantage and made a birdie at hole 10 and 11 to co-lead with Sergey when reaching the hole 12. From there to the end, Sergey stayed strong and took the final victory with 40 points. Sebastian Lindstrom ended up second with 36 points.
In the end of the competition, our Caddie Master, Loic Servant had a chat with NAGA´s leader, who remarked on his best shot; a birdie on hole 8 after a good tee off shot landing the ball just 20cm from the hole.
