International Women’s Day

To begin with, this day goes back to the beginning of the twentieth century and was celebrated for the first time on March 19, 1911. From Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Denmark, it was extended over the years to more countries.

As a result, it is in 1975 through the UN when the International Women’s Day is declared; with that, also their rights, equality and international peace.

From 1994, with the recognition of this day in the United States, International Women’s Day moved its celebration day to March 8 around the world.

For some years, we have been celebrating this tournament in commemoration of this day. For that reason, Los Naranjos holds a tournament on the Costa del Sol dedicated exclusively for women golfers.

Los Naranjos Ladies Open, March 8.

This year we want to make the tournament more fun. Actually, we would like to ask for the cooperation of your husbands, boyfriends or male friends. They will be your caddies, they will be the ones that do the work and you … the ones that have a good time.

The Ladies Open is available to any woman who wants to participate, both members and visitors. It starts at 10 o’clock in the morning, with the registration to the tournament you will get included:

  • Green fee.
  • Buggy.
  • Cocktail and canapés.
  • Prize awards.

We have the collaboration of our sponsors: Wilson Staff and Sol Eye Opticians. They will take care of the welcome pack for all the players and the prizes for the winners.

This year there will be a maximum of 52 players. Therefore, you are still in time to sign up and celebrate your day with us.
