The ladies interclub varies a bit from the gentlemens. For example the ladies teams consists of 6-8 players from each club and they have no league where they collect over all points for the year. With other words, it is matchplay in a very friendly athomsphere even though all of them wants to win.
Susanne Folkebo has for many years acted as the Inter Club Captain but has now left that position, so for the time beeing, questions concerning the inter club games can be made to the Ladies Captain Lena Suominen.
The goal is to find challenging but also fun, high quality clubs to play against and through the years Los Naranjos has met Atalaya, Los Aqueros, Guadalmina, Las Brisas as well as many other clubs at Costa del Sol.
For this year the decision was made to play against Aloha, Real Club Sotogrande, Villa Padierna, Guadalhorce and San Roque. They also have for the first time ever a match against La Reserva Sotogrande, which is indeed exciting for us all.
For ladies wanting to play the interclub, the expectations are that they are an active Wednesday and/or Saturday golf competition player, they wear the Los Naranjos orange logo t-shirt during our matches and naturally stay at the lunch arranged after the game.
In the Inter Club everybody can participate no matter of age and with a max hcp of 36. Ladies are encourage to sign up and take the chance to meet other clubs and get to know their courses. The competition list with registration options is always posted on the membership board as soon as clubs and dates are ready.
This Season has started well for Los Naranjos. Our ladies won the total for the first time ever against Aloha as well as against Real Club Sotogrande.
With fun games, great attitude and nice friendship amongst the club ladies, they will surely have a great time in the remaining matches.
