Elina Hagberg is a Swedish professional golfer with a background in figure skating as well. She returned to playing golf in 2018 and turned pro in 2021 playing the Swedish golf circuit, the Nordic golf circuit and is now a player in the LET access series to try for a place in the LET.
Elina has been able to play in many courses around the world and during the months of October and November she has enjoyed Los Naranjos Golf Club. We had the opportunity to ask her some questions.
Why did you choose Los Naranjos GC? Did you know the club before?
I choose Los Naranjos to play and practice on since I heard a lot o good things about the club from friends that has been there. It’s a warm and welcoming club with a nice course and a good restaurant. Super nice and friendly staff and super helpful at all times. I’ve never played the course before coming here this time but I absolutely love it. It’s also just 15 minutes by car from where we’re staying in Marbella wich makes it easy to go to.
How has your experience been playing here?
My experience so far has been great. It’s a super nice course with a lot on fun and also challenging holes. First nine is a little bit more tricky than the last but you enjoy them in different ways.
What do you think of the greens and the conditions of the course?
The greens are fast, really nice in the morning. Playing early. Get’s a little bit more slower and you can see people walking around in the afternoon.
What do you think about the team?
The team is brilliant. Such nice and helpful staff. Patricia is super friendly and nice, Oskar is always happy and helpful. Jose Maria and the other younger guy in the caddy master always polite and are always happy when we arrive. Staff in the restaurant is also super friendly and the Swedish womens in the shop! I really like all the staff here. Always makes me happy when I arrive.
And about social life at Los Naranjos GC?
Members are super friendly too. It’s a nice vibe around the course and people are greeting each other. Super nice.
Can you tell me what you like the most at Los Naranjos’
As a swede, I have to say the meat balls in the restaurant Haha. I really like the challenging first nine and also the friendly staff.
Would you recommend Los Naranjos? Why?
Yes, I would and I already have. Definitely first of all for the vibe, and the warming welcoming you get when u arrive. Second of all for the fun of playing the course. It’s overall super nice course and fun to play. Works for all type of golfers and you can play it no matter of your handicap. It has something for everybody.
Will you come back?
Yes, I will come back and play every time I visit Marbella. Since I like the vibe and always get good energy from being there. The vibe really gets to you and that’s an important aspect in your day and practice.
