Proof of this, various international sport events were held in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>We started with cycling. La Vuelta, is one of the big three major cycling events along with Tour the France and Giro d\u2019Italia. In 2015 on its 70th anniversary, its first stage started from Puerto Ban\u00fas.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, the I Intercontinental Cup Marbella-Ceuta took place. One of the most emblematic regattas held in Spain. Furthermore, this year we have two major sporting events.<\/p>\n<p>In tennis, the Davis Cup was held this month at the Puente Romano Tennis Club. The support of the public and the good atmosphere of the tournament were key in the victory of the Spanish team.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/eu.ironman.com\/es-es\/triathlon\/events\/emea\/ironman-70-3\/marbella.aspx#axzz5AJRbEPYb\">Ironman 70.3,<\/a> one of the worldwide races organised by the World Triathlon Corporation. This competition will arrive this year to Marbella from Peru. The city has already become one of the classic stages year after year.<\/p>\n<p>Every spring and summer there are two editions of the Marbella Cup Soccer. An international grassroots football tournament that offers to the young players the possibility to combine football with tourism with their families.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;Los Naranjos GC, is also an international benchmark in Marbella.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Los Naranjos GC has more than 40 years of history. This golf course has also hosted two important international tournaments.<\/p>\n<p>The Ladies Open of Marbella, belonging to the Ladies European Tour was held in 1988. Furthermore, on the following year we hosted the PGA Championship of Spain. Here, the legendary <strong>Severiano Ballesteros<\/strong> made us vibrate with emotion playing for the title against Jos\u00e9 Rivero.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, we hosted other important tournaments. For example, The European Senior Amateur Championship, the Spanish Junior Championship and the Spanish LPGA Championship also were held in our course.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, we look forward to attracting more international tournaments through our continuous improvement of our facilities and golf course.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Costa del Sol and especially the city of Marbella has become one of the most attractive tourist destinations around the world.
